Infantino who previously served as General Secretary of UEFA, gaining 115 votes or 27 votes more than Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa in the second round of elections. In the first round, Infantino scooped 88 votes, Sheikh Salman 85 votes, Prince Ali 27 votes, and Jerome Champagne 7 vote.
